I travel a lot within Nigeria to experience the unique culture and diversity of the country.
Traveling to me is fun and educative and so I’m delighted to write this post about traveling , my country Nigeria and some beautiful sites you would love to see if you ever visit my country.
WHY WE ARE THE GIANT OF WEST AFRICA
Nigeria is the largest country in West Africa comprising of 36 states and capitals, each with its’ own unique intonation and diverse way of life.
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in thr world.
Abuja which is the federal capital, is just over twice the state of California in the USA.
Nigeria is three nations in one, meaning that Nigeria have three major tribes, which are Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. Despite the fact that Nigeria has this three major ethnic groups with its’ their unique language we still see ourselves as one and have come a long way despite this great cultural diversity.
Nigeria is rich in raw materials. Either for textile, for food or for drug, it’s all found here.
According to some research, there are over 510 languages in Nigeria that have been estimated and catalogued.
Every season in Nigeria has different types of food that can be produced at that time.

Nigeria is one of the countries that value culture and tradition. Nigeria culture is as multi-ethnic as the people in Nigeria. We cherish our traditional languages, cultural dance, literature, music and arts which include: Ivory carvings, Grass weaving, Wood carving, Leather making and calabash production and designs.

NIGERIAN CLOTHING
Nigerian have unique and attractive clothing and attires with wonderful styles. Such include: adire, lace, Ankara, ofi, jacquard, these are some materials used in making of different styles of dress.Styles of Nigerian clothing for women include: Buba, Kaba, Gele, Iro, Iborun or Ipele. While for men include: Buba, agbada (babariga in hausa), sokoto and lots more.

COLOURFUL-EXCITING FESTIVALS CELEBRATED IN NIGERIA
Nigeria has full range of different exciting places and events you would not want to miss. Some of such exciting events includes;
The festival of the masquerades called Eyo festival which takes place in Lagos Island

The New Yam festival which is celebrated in a lot of states within the country during the raining season.

We also have the Osun festival held at the end of every raining season. It usually comes up around the ,month of August at the sacred forest in Osogbo ,in the State of Osun, People come from all over the world to worship and make requests from the river osun goddess.

AMAZING STATES IN NIGERIA IDEAL FOR VISITATION
LAGOS STATE
Lagos state is one of the most well visited and biggest cities in Nigeria. Arriving in Lagos is the beginning of many adventures. Its’ location has made the city to become the major convergence center for all other states. For this reason various spots meant for relaxation exploration and leisure were established. Just in case Lagos is your choice these destinations are indeed worth visiting:

PORT HARCOURT
Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers state, Nigeria.
It was given its’ name in honor of Lewis Vernon Colonies. The Garden city as it is commonly called , has gathered lucrative oil industries, and large export industries. It has become a meeting point for a diverse number of people with different interests and so it is always an exciting place to be.
Isaac Boro garden park: This is found in Rivers state. It is good for a day out with friends, also various weapon of military personel used in the old days and now, are among a few things to see in the park .
Port Harcourt Golf club, Rivers state museum , Port Harcourt city mall, Port Harcourt zoo, and Bonny Island and River,

-River State Cultural Center: This is a great place to visit to appreciate the culture of the city. The center is focused on showing different unique cultures in Port Harcourt city. Events taken place in the center includes African figurines and poetry display and cultural dance, also souveneirs of local artifacts could also be bought there.
CROSS RIVER STATE
Cross river state is located around south-south of Nigeria which have a lot of beautiful attractions that bring many visitors to it. such includes:
- Obudu mountain resort and cattle ranch: Its one of the most popular tourist attractions in Nigeria with many exciting and numerous fantastic resort for relaxation and is also a natural grazing ground for cattle. mountain resort is about 1576 meters above the sea level and is very mountainous . The medium to transport there is by either driving by car or cable car. Going through the cable takes about 6 minutes while drive takes about 25minutes to the mountain. the ride down is always fast and so extremely exiting to try.
