Corruption is an act of manipulating the original state of a body to favour anybody without regarding the new state of the initial body.

Its is an dishonesty, a conduct termed fraudulent.

It impairs integrity, Virtue or moral principle.
It is a loss of purity.

it is also referred to as the "art of changing or of being changed for worse, departure from what is pure, simple or corrected.”

Corruption is not just the dishonest conduct of those in power, but the greatest form of human rights violation which has become a great impediment to developmental issues of our country.

Corruption is the bane of underdevelopment in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular.

The psychological effects of corruption have led to lack of consciousness on the individuals entrusted with power as well as a division of our social class.

it is pertinent to say that corruption has eaten deep into the moral fabrics of Nigeria. It has resulted to bribery, nepotism, tribalism, and religious divisions which threaten the unity of our country.

In earnest, when due process is sacrificed on the altar of different components of corruption, then the vices of under development become evident.

  • Relationship between corruption and poverty

Poverty is the state of being poor or indigent, lack or scarcity of the means of sustenance.

Poverty can also be regarded as the state of any deficiency of elements or resources needed or desired.

Poverty has pushed people to the level of losing their consciences.

Poverty leads to corrupt thinking and hostile actions. For example, Nigerian youths, after they complete their university education hope to secure jobs with what they acquired in school, but the elderly ones keep frustrating their efforts by continually forging and reducing their ages in other to remain in office.

Out of frustrations, these young ones would begin to look out for any means of making ends meet.

At the end corruption produces poor masses.

  • What about Tribalism and Corruption are closely

Tribalism and corruption are closely intertwined. Nigeria has over 100 tribes with their languages and traditions. The Igbo, Yoruba, Hausas, etcetera tend to look out for their people.

In most cases, jobs are given based on primordial considerations such as tribal and religious affiliations.

Take for instance, a Yoruba man would rather choose to employ a fellow Yoruba man even when another candidate from a different tribe is more qualified for the job.

Nigeria is considered “Giant of Africa”. This country is blessed with diverse mineral resources but then, we remain less developed compared to other countries of the same category.

This is as a result of greed, covetousness, and lack of integrity.

Corruption leads to violence, thuggery, robbery, frustrations and agitations of any kind. The act of leaving someone who is best qualified for a certain job to employ a less qualified individual could lead to frustration and violence.

When ethnicity and favoritism are the order of the day, development becomes almost impossible. .When figures are continually manipulated and forged, the masses suffer.

The fight against corruption involves everyone, old and young; educated and uneducated; leaders and the led All hands must be on deck to fight corruption and return development, integrity and honesty to Nigeria.

Corruption is the bane of underdevelopment in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular

That is the problem plaguing Africa generally and Nigeria in particular. Or is so sad that despite our vast resources, we still wallow in abject poverty. Thank you euronation for sharing.

The picture is funny but is real for Naija

The picture is funny but is real for Naija

You just did a good job sir.

That is eh! The struggle is too real in this our Naija. Poverty and corruption are like the head and tail of a snake that is swallowing itself and strangling the development of our country.

Nonetheless there is hope. The new generation are realizing it more and more and finding ways out of poverty (like Steemit) that don't require us to follow in the corrupt footsteps of our forebears. We are a rising tide and we will surely prevail.

Both the leader and the led swim in corruption as fishes in the waters. So I wonder 'who will lead who ?' Corruption is huge here and its grasp is so tight that I mostly wonder if there could be a little ray of light at the end of the tunnel.

The incorruptible are not yet born.Until they are born, we have to manage what we get cos who we trust to help out is corrupt also, except God

Every you go u see and experience corruption.can a mortal put an end to corruption?
