No need for the unending compliments!
Only a few stands by you in your struggles.
Only a few stands by you when your world looks like there is no future.
Only a few welcome your presence when it looks like things are always bad with you.
Only a few pour you genuine compliments when you refuse to update them your progress...They would always pray and hope that things don't go well with you, because they are afraid you would overtake them..
Some are not really as bad as their evil thoughts, its only that they don't just want you to make it before or without them.. And, their best wish for you is that you don't get ahead of them. Some don't even want you to have your own smile at all..all they want is for you to smile inside their laugh..
When they understand that all their wishes and hopes are not productive and they happen to coincidentally meet you somewhere to see that all is well with you, they begin to pour their unending unnecessary compliments.
They would suggest that you organise a home coming ceremony. They would suggest a wife for you. They would suggest a house best for you. They would suggest best sit out for you. They would suggest best cloths for you. They would suggest best everything for you.. These are same people who suggested that you don't take the choice that has taken you to your heights.
When you want to know how best they love you, check out how they treat their fellow class/coursemate who since graduation looks very helpless and hopeless,,, check out how they treat those seek their support for self determination, you would understand that there is no need for all the compliments..
With or without them, you can still be great. Nigeria is great, not with those who thought that its not gonna go without them, but, with those who saw a dream for Nigeria and did their quota to see what would come out.
Nigeria is better.
If you like, erase Nigeria from your books, walls, thoughts, you cannot stop Nigeria. So are the citizens.
