While sitting in the Southern California sun in our backyard in Riverside, our dog was playing with his bone and I asked my wife (who is not a gamer), what she thought about the whole concept of "play-to-earn." She replied, "Who wouldn't want to play games to earn things?"

Indeed, my wife is quite right. When I was growing up, I never heard of this play-to-earn concept that is booming in the NFT gaming and art space. As a preteen of days-gone-by, I just dropped my hard-earned quarters in the video arcade machine to gladly play the old-school game, Asteroids, for the vectorized electronic fun of it. Those were the days... and these are the days too!

Thanks to coding and community genius, there is a way to receive NFT artworks by playing games instead of actually paying for the NFT with crypto--all while still having fun. Such things have been going on for a while on various cryptoart and gaming platforms, and right now you can even do it while playing a simple text game by typing commands in Discord on the Adventure Metaverse channel at https://mee6.xyz/adventuremetaverse. How simple is it? In that channel, first type /daily and then hit enter. Then every hour, when that player types /work in the same adventure-token channel, they earn points, and they can type this every hour to earn more points. When enough points have accumulated, they can then trade those in-game points for digital items, such as the NFT pictured above. To shop in the channel for that NFT, the player can type /shop to see what digital items are in the shop. For example, there a list would reply showing that my NFT is item number 5faaf3ec01. So the player could also type /shop 5faaf3ec01 to get more details about that item and then if they indeed want to trade in their in-game Discord points to receive that NFT, the player would then type /buy 5faaf3ec01
