Our Rarible NFT Experiment for Got Skills

A Non-Fungible Future

I'm sure most of you reading this will already be familiar with NFTs, as I was first introduced to the novel concept when Cryptokitties broke the Ethereum network a few years ago and in fact still own a handful of digital cats. Since then I'd been thinking of how to utilize the concept of non-fungible tokens in a way that would be exciting and add value to those who might be interested in purchasing them.

Crypto Art

After stumbling into the Crypto Art scene I was introduced to a number of platforms and reached out to some of them with the idea of combining the music and the art into a new form of NFT related to our products as a Record Label.

So here it is, our first experiment in deploying a NFT using the Rarible platform. The reason we went with Rarible is because they just launched their "Unlock" feature, which we were looking at implementing while researching another platform called Unlock Protocol. The timing was perfect and here we are, just about to release Got Skills, the first single on our label so why not give it a shot!

A Music NFT?

We're not quite where we want to be exactly, but that's the whole point of experiments right? We minted the official Cover Art with a gold leaf border for our Gold Collection, which will symbolize all our future releases on Rarible. Through the "Unlock" function we will include access to exclusive content (HQ MP3 file of the song) along with instructions, in video form, on how you can obtain 10% of the nett streaming revenue from the song, just for owning the NFT!
