Why Buy?

I realize that not everyone out there is sitting pretty like me, so I worked out an affordable way for new players to get protected. Now that I have nine planets (like any good solar system :D), it's time for Pickle's ships to be shipped through the stars.

What can you do Early with Battleships?

1. Transport resources quickly and easily between your planets.

This is the best reason to own Corvettes. A Corvette travels 4 coordinate points per hour, making them the fastest ship with a carrying capacity. For quick upgrades, I have been moving resources to my various planets using Corvettes, not Transporters. Transporters are pricey, and you may fall behind on your other ship skills if you build Transporters. If you buy a handful of Corvettes, you can instantly have an effective transport system.

2. Keep your neighbors from farming.

There are a ton of players out there who are only interested in farming unprotected or inactive users. If you have some battleships, any raiders would have to sacrifice ships to steal from you. This will buy you a lot of time.

3. Farm your neighbors.

We all have a few neighbors that signed in a couple times, then gave up on the game. Some of these planets have increased resource production, leaving them open to friendly farming, which can give a big boost to your resource production with a simple daily raid.

Think Outside the Space Box

This is a game of long term strategy and planning. In DrugWars, I focused for months on nothing but resource production, and now my account is completely flamboozled. Now I get raided constantly, can never build an army, and every day the game gets a little less fun. That's what I want new players in NextColony to avoid. The mistakes you make now can and will seriously detract from your ultimate enjoyment of the game. I want everyone to enjoy NC as much as I do.
