RE: Vice President Mike Pence leaves Colts-49ers game

in #newzleakz7 years ago

We will have to wait and see if Trump and Pence really do stand up for their beliefs, or if they let the media and congressional pressure get to them. Can you see it now, the super bowl victors for the first time since the tradition started not being invited to a white house dinner. If that happens then yes Trump and Pence would be seen as true men of their word.

Sort:

Absent some major turn-around on the part of the National Felons League I very much doubt that they will be invited.

Traditions are a hard thing to give up. Congress may not let them give it up. We will see. They do seem to have the ability to stand for what they really believe.

What control does Congress have over who the President invites to have dinner with him?
Last I heard the Rinos...er...I mean the Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate.

I don't think they get to pick who comes to dinner, but they can put pressure on them, not much because most of them wear pansy waisted petticoats. As is shown by the complete lack of any significant accomplishments in the last 30 years other than screwing up and trying to do away with the middle class.

suppose the President, the VP and his staff decided not to come?

I think if congress throws them a party, then Trump and Pence really really need to give the kitchen staff the day off, and make congress order pizza, and chinese take out.

congress is free to do what it wants to do...it certainly hasn't been helping Trump much.
A presidential dinner thing isn't congress is it? Isn't it name Presidential (or whitehouse) for a reason?

in a related subject...I think that the 'Congressional Medal of Honor' should be renamed..because Congress isn't
