Who qualified for the Paris Olympics on Night 2 of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials?

On the second night of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team Trials, Sha'Carri Richardson and Ryan Crouser earned their places in the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.

The evening at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, featured finals in the women's 100m, men's shot put, women's triple jump, and men's decathlon.

Richardson, with a remarkable 100m time of 10.71 seconds—the fastest globally this year—secured her first Olympic appearance. Her training partners, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, who finished second and third respectively, will join her in Paris.

In the men's shot put, Crouser overcame his challenging spring to win with a throw of 22.84m, edging out Joe Kovacs and Payton Otterdahl. All three athletes are headed to the Olympics.

The men's decathlon saw Heath Baldwin win with 8,625 points, earning his Olympic spot alongside Zach Ziemek, now the second U.S. man to make three Olympic decathlon teams, and Harrison Williams.

Jasmine Moore clinched her second Olympic team spot in the women's triple jump, joined by Keturah Orji and Tori Franklin.

In the men's 100m heats, Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley, and Christian Coleman advanced to the semifinals. Similarly, Yared Nuguse in the men's 1500m and Kaylyn Brown and Shamier Little in the women's 400m advanced to their respective finals.
