OLD NEW YEAR: KEEPING UP DISAPPEARING TRADITIONS

Happy New Year! No, I am not late:)
According to the old calendar we have the New Year right this midnight.

In my childhood it was celebrated almost the same as the main day on the 1st of January, but now it is an ordinary day... There are no fireworks, no celebrations and drunk people.. And it is a little bit sad.

Lack of money?
Or lost traditions?

Hope the first, but the truth is closer to the second...

Times change, people change, and we leave so much in the past. Much of something important and native...

We decided to keep up the tradition of my childhood and celebrate it!

No drinks and dishes, something better - Father Frost for my son!

It was the 1st year when he came to him, and it was unforgettable!

My dad was our handmade Father Frost in our handmade costume

We were afraid my boy would understand it was just his grandfather but no! My Daddy was a perfect actor, he changed the voice, he behaved very natural as for the Father Frost, and our son was so surprised and inspired!

He sangd his favorite song, showed his handmade things, and Father Frost gave him a lot of gifts:)

He was so happy! So many new emotions!

Then we said goodbye to our "guest" Father Frost and went for a walk.

A street fireshow was great but we were late to get more photos.

This holiday is old, it is not real, not modern, but... It is our history, our past, my childhood, and I am glad we still keep up this disappearing tradition...
