2018's Eve Preparation - Part 2

While I'm still waiting for the potatoes to get soft enough for mashing and the beef to absorb the marinade before grilling, let's go on with Day 2.

As Jonah said, a day wasn't enough to get everything we needed. So we woke up really early this morning to hunt for what my son wanted me to prepare tonight - Tbone Steak. The nearest meat shop already ran out of slabs so we took a jeepney ride to the market. Yes, we took the jeep because I'm pretty sure the streets are crowded and it will be hard to find a parking spot. Sure enough, the end of the traffic was 5 blocks away from the market. We got off and walked to the market instead.

The stalls were just everywhere and it felt like all the people here in Cavite City have flocked out to the market. There were just too many people so it was a little hard for me to take a shot (yeah, I was too afraid my camera gets snatched. Happened too many times with my previous phones).

There were stalls for fruits, for bread, for some trumpets and so, it was a little hard to get to where you really need to be. You need to shove yourself into the crowd to get through.

So we got to the market and there were even more people here than outside. We went to our trusty meat seller, the one famous in our city because we know for sure he's got the best cuts. When we got there, it was just us. The meat was sold at ₱500 ($10) per kilo. He gave a discount of ₱50 ($1) because the moment we arrived at his stall, people started coming in too! Lucky customers? Maybe so!

Along the way, we picked up some veggies and stuff. The old lady started to gossip about her daughter while we were picking up the good ones.

After getting everything we needed at the market we walked back to where we can grab a ride. We couldn't help but buy some plastic trumpets because firecrackers are already banned. This is the only way we can make noise now.

Ooops, I can smell something burning! Time to go back to the kitchen! And if I don't get back till when, have a happy new year and God bless!
