2018's Eve Preparation - Part 1

in #newyear7 years ago

Before the day goes crazy and my kitchen becomes dirty, I wanted to sit for a while to share what it has been like for the past couple of days.

This weekend is just as busy as it was over Christmas. Last minute changes on the menu you've prepared weeks before made it a little more challenging. At least, no more thoughts about gift giving. It'll all be just eating this time.

We wanted to start early with grocery shopping to avoid long lines but we always end up just wanting it and not really doing it. So it was just yesterday that we actually went to pick up the things we need. And, I guess that's fine. At least, they'd still be fresh than those picked earlier, yeah?

Started with a stop at some shirt printing shop so we can get our twinning shirts ready. There were too many people lined up getting their shirts printed too. I had a design ready but it will take more hours than the one they have. So we just went with what they have. 4 hours prepping time so we decided to leave and pick grocery items. From Robinson's Gen Tri we headed to All Home.

There was not much people when we arrived. No struggle to get a parking spot and find a cart unlike last week. Our cart had more items for the two kids than what we actually needed. Look at them getting tired from grocery shopping.

It was past 3 and we realized we haven't had lunch yet. There was a local coffee shop and a pizza parlor at the second level of All Home but they wanted burgers, so burgers it is. We had them at a cafe which was a block away from All Home. There were huge groups of families having conversations over cups of coffee so it took a while to get us served.

Now back to Robinson's Gen Tri... Parking was a little full and my son got really excited when he saw a black Ford Mustang pulled over beside us. He went to ask the driver if he can take a picture. The owner proudly gave in.

It was around 6 and over the mall speakers was the sound of a girl announcing of the fireworks display set at 7 by the front facade. We hurried to the printing shop and sure enough our shirts were ready.

The two kids sooo wanted to see the fireworks so we passed time at the arcade. Around quarter to 7, we headed to the fireworks place and whatndo you know, all filled up with little kids waiting too. There was a coffee shop that had a vacant seat which was a nice spot to watch the fireworks. And just so they can see what they waited for, we bought drinks from the store out of courtesy that we were using their place to watch the show.

After the show, they got excited to go home so they can tell their gramps.

This is just Day 1 of 2018's eve prep. I'll leave it to John to tell you of his morning at the market.

How's your prepping going so far? Tell us!

Thanks for reading!
