As I understand it, the Presidents job is to act in the best interests of the nation, not to do 'as he sees fit'. Doing as he sees fit seems to say he has ultimate authority.
Its also very awkward for the President that officials in his administration, are being accused by him and others from his own administration of leaking sensitive information; as the leader, is he not ultimately responsible for that? Mr Trump seems to be leading a cult of personality, where he is creating an image of himself as an individual who can do no wrong, like a monarch.
