News Link: The Emma, A Device Which Reduces The Apparent Intensity of Parkinson's Tremors
I recently wrote an article about microbiome research and the potential effect this may have relating to Parkinson's disease. Tonight I watched a short BBC video about another piece of technology created by Haiyan Zhang. The device, called The EMMA, utilizes small motors in a bracelet which vibrate in such a way so as to counterbalance the tremors from Parkinson's.
In the emotional video (for me at least) you can watch a bit about how the device was designed, and just how effective it was at reducing the shaking in Emma Lawton's (after whom the device was named) hand such that she can write her name and draw a line. The video is very touching (and pretty brief), so I highly recommend you take a moment to watch it. The link is below:

@justtryme90, amazing how a little device can help with the tremors. My dad suffers from Parkinson's. Thank you for sharing.
Even though the device just masks them, you can see when you watch the video just how much it means to Emma. I can only imagine your dad's struggles, I hope that someday soon an effective way to cope with this disease (at the very least) will be found.
Well, that's a lot safer than the deep brain stimulation surgery. And definitely worth the video time. I hope everyone who is an artist watches this - they would appreciate their gift being taken away and given back with this device .
I'm thinking the brain can relearn....maybe I'm to optimistic.
Very exciting and emotional video.
