Nougat became the Most Polpuler Android OS
Android 7.0 Nougat finally became the most widely used version of Android by android smartphone users. This becomes important because Google had difficulty popularizing the latest version of its operating system.

Nougat adoption rate has reached 28.5 percent, followed in the sequence in succession is Android Marshwallow, Lollipop, and KitKat. While Oreo, the most recent android version, is only used by about 1.1 percent of total android users.
Nougat's adoption defeated Marshmallow, which for three years has continued to dominate. This is only achieved after Nougat has been 18 months since launch. Unlike Oreo operating systems that have been available since August 21, 2017 but only 1.1 percent of Android phones around the world are using the operating system.
There are several reasons why Google seems difficult to encourage Android owners to use the latest operating system. First is the type of Android installed on the new phone is often permanent which means can not be upgraded to a newer version.
Even if someone is using the latest Android, smartphone manufacturers usually only use it on their flagship model that is at the peak of the consumer pyramid. As a result, most Android phone users in the middle to lower class still use the old version.

Based on Google Dashboard reports, their operating system adoption rate is calculated from visits to the Play Store. From there they can find out the version of the operating system used by Android users.
The adoption rate of Android 8.0 Oreo is only superior to Android Ginger Bread and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
