WhatsApp about to initiate a change that would displease users
The WhatsApp messaging application would include ads in its platform starting in 2019, according to the RT portal.
The ads would appear in the state section, where users post photos and videos.
Brian Acton, co-founder of WhatsApp, explained at the end of September in an interview offered to Forbes magazine that he left the partnership with Facebook for not agreeing with Zuckerberg to monetize the service.
He argued that with that goal, the Facebook owner wanted to introduce targeted ads in the status section.
