I grew up in Newark and it is great to hear this type of business and project being placed into a community, that needs this the most. To my knowledge, there aren't many healthy food options in Newark. It is good to know, this project will not only provide locally sourced produce to Newark and the entire state of New Jersey, but also breathe life back into the economy of Newark, which was decimated, I feel anyway, as a result of the riots, that took place back in 1967.

Newark’s racial makeup, is mainly compromised of a largely, African American and Hispanic population. Hopefully, the Aero Farm project, will help to erode the social problems of poverty and high crime. More jobs, will mean some people within the community, are less inclined to resort to at times desperate measures, such as the possibility of committing a crime, in order to have there basic needs met. Hoping this project, will spark more economic development, within not only the city of Newark, but becomes a blue print for other areas (Paterson, Camden, New Brunswick) as well, which are also facing some of the same social issues as Newark. I think this project is a great example, of what problems can be solved when people, think outside of the box.
