Wrapping Up 2016 on The Internet - Top Stories That Rocked The Internet in 2016
We all know the Internet impacts the way we digest news, and some news takes it own turn on the Internet. I plan on doing a few posts on 2016, but this is a fairly short list of stories that took on a life of their own on the Internet. Which of these stories had the largest impact on you? What stories did I miss?

- Bitcoin Resurgence - People understand Bitcoin is still alive and not only for criminals, the prices made this an Internet story
- Syrian Refuges - The world struggles to deal with the people we bombed out of their country and homes
- Terrorism Attacks rock the world each one sending waves out on the Internet
- Sentence for Stanford Swimmer Sparks Outrage - Creating Memes, Stories and OPs for months
- Flint Water Crisis - It should have received more attention, but it did rock the internet.
- Brexit - British citizens voted to exit the European Union.
- Zika Virus - The world tries to deal with a disease which steals the health of unborn babies and is spread by mosquitoes.
- The Dress That Was Blue/Black Or White/Gold
- Hombre the gorilla bring internet drama to animal over-reactionists
- Fidel Castro dies and the USA attempts to normalize relations with Cuba
- Donald Trump was elected as President of the United States of America
- Joe and Barack memes
- We lost many music and entertainment legends. Robin Williams, Prince, and others gone and their stories rocked the Internet
- Olympics held in Rio - Games come to South America in 2016, with Rio de Janeiro as the host city.
- Standing Rock Stand Off - fuels racial, environmental divides
- Kanye West - Goes a little nutty on tour
- PizzaGate - Creepy Emails and Pictures start a debate on fake news, pedophilia and the internet reacts
In 2016 there were many stories, started by the news cycle that took on a life of their own on the Internet. What will we be facing in 2017?

Came to see that Steemit and Bitcoin prices are mentioned, can leave post happy and upvoted now because they were the first two things. Merge those two pieces of news together by adding Decentralized Bitcoin Marketplace OpenBazaar opens, and within same year accepts any Altcoin Shapeshift accepts, which includes Steem.
I feel Kanye can be taken off the list or just remove the words "on tour" lol
