You Just Can't Keep Nintendo Down, Why Switch Is The Fastest Selling System In U.S. HistorysteemCreated with Sketch.

Nintendo has a wild up and down ride when it comes to video games. Sure they are a household name and you would think they were always the top when it came to gaming. But not all of their consoles did well. There was a point, around the time that Sega stopped competing where Nintendo was old news. The Playstation and Xbox where the the future and Nintendo, though fun, was not where gamers wanted to spend their time.

It was all about third party support and these titles where heading to the ps and xbox. Nintendo was dominate up to the Nintendo 64. I'm sure, if you are a gamer of a certain age, you have played a Nintendo, a Super Nintendo and a Nintendo 64. I know I have. Nintendo was the console that brought gaming into homes. Then the Super Nintendo came along and improved on it. And when it was time to switch to 3D, the 64 entered the picture with Mario 64 and Goldeneye. Nintendo was always at the front. But then they released the Game Cube. It didn't support the titles that playstation and xbox did and for the first time Nintendo started to slip. It seemed like they were going to be overtaken by the new graphics and titles. Nintendo was becoming a thing of the past...

Until the Wii came out. Instead of trying to compete with the big boys Nintendo went another direction. Let's add motion controls. And even though they didn't have the graphics or licenses as the other two systems had they were still flying off the selves. They took another dip when the Wii U came out but now, the Switch, is setting records. Just like the Wii, the Switch is a new way to play and it is bringing in the masses.

Sure Nintendo is quality and the games that are theirs keep people playing but the way they innovate cannot be underestimated. And because of it, the Switch is now the best selling console in America history and that plumber is going nowhere.

i was playing till Nintendo DS came out, all the games i had and i had about 10 was Pokemon :P

Hey Pokemon was great.

It's funny, for some reason the other day I was thinking about the Game Genie, perhaps in relationship to people who cheat at steemit, it took all the fun out of it. Did anyone have the Game Genie?

Do you think the switch would have performed as well if Zelda (nostalgia - my childhood) wasn't released at the same time?
