Argentina and Lionel Messi progressed to the last 16 of the World Cup by the skin of their teeth on Tuesday after an 86th-minute strike from defender Marcos Rojo gave them a 2-1 win over Nigeria and eliminated the African side.

Finally, Argentina played like a team. 4-4-2 is really fit for this Argentina: Messi and Higuain in front, Mascherano in the midfield. Next match against France will be hard challenge for Argentina. And apparently, France is the better team.

Nigeria made a mistake at first half by giving space to Argentina midfielders. And that was how Banega assisted Messi because Nigeria didn't give him pressure.

Man of the march: Lionel Messi, 31 years old, 170cm, 72kg, has 34 goals 12 assists in La Liga, and 6 goals 2 assists in UEFA Champions League for Barcelona last season.

    They were very lucky to have progressed to the round of 16. They met an easy side that was why they could go further. Though they are going home after their next game with France because France is not an inexperience side like Nigeria

    what a game this had been @wf9877. even argentina s haters would have enjoyed it. i was like biting my nails through out the game. in the last 10 mins situation became so tense that i had tears in my eyes but what do i say about that beauty from marcos rojo. just a perfect volley to get argentina through. messi s goal was also a great one. incredible control on his thigh and then a swift right foot accurate shot. brilliant game. thanks for sharing. keep up the good work. keep sharing more worlcup games.
