Wikileaks "brutal kangaroo" CIA weapon

in #news7 years ago

Wikileaks has revealed more leaked documents in its vault 7 catagory, it has alleged how the CIA's "brutal kangaroo" program is being used to penetrate the most secure networks in the world, similar to the stuxnet virus, a cyberweapon apparently built by the US and Israel. Stuxnet is thought to have caused major damage to Iran's nuclear program in 2010.

Brutal kangaroo is said to only work on devices running Windows and how it works, it is a tool suite that targets air gapped networks by using a flash drive, Airgapping is a security measure applied on one or more computers to ensure a secure network is physically isolated from unsecured networks. The air gapped networks are commonly used by big corporations, financial institutions, military complexes and nuclear power plants.

So how it works...the unsecured network computer at said facility is infected with the brutal kangaroo malware when someone inserts a usb drive it " jumps to the usb, then when the same usb is inserted into the air gapped network it " jumps " again into the secured network giving the source who is in control of the brutal kangaroo tools full rain on the secured network, it may not appear to be the most efficient way to spy, it allows the intelligence agency to infiltrate otherwise unreachable networks.
