Murder as clickbait?
Murder is daily news.
Each time I enter the internet the first thing I see it is a message about a parent who killed its kids, someone who killed a (grand)parent or kids been killed at school. So daily killings and children are mentioned in each news item.
By the way, children seem to be great in shooting down (grand)parents as well.
Is this news true?
Is this all the news there is? Is the USA a paradise for killers? Is it so easy (common,?) to stabb someone to death or shoot him/her down?
If this is the daily news, how come nobody is really concerned? That much concerned they want it to be different?
As sad as it is, in most cases I do not feel pity.
If I hear people their opinion this is the price they are willing to pay for the right to defend themselves (although in many cases it has nothing to do with defence but way more with not being able to express oneself, short fuse and lack of normal behaviour).
Today I read this news at Yahoo:
Dad stabbed to death as daughter sits in lap at restaurant
LOS ANGELES (AP) A homeless man was charged Friday with murder in a random attack on a California father who was stabbed in the neck as his 5-year-old daughter sat in his lap in a crowded beachside steakhouse.
Jamal Jackson, 49, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Anthony Mele. He was being held in Ventura County jail on a $1.5 million bail. It's unclear if he has an attorney to speak on his behalf.
Mele and his wife were eating dinner with their daughter Wednesday at Aloha Steakhouse in Ventura. The girl was sitting in her father's lap when prosecutors say Jackson walked up and stabbed Mele in the neck.
I wonder why the fact that the daughter sat in his lap was mentioned
so many times (you can tead the whole content on Yahoo). To be honest, as I just read the title I thought the dad is a pedophile!
I assume Yahoo used that title as clickbait. A way to "catch" people to read the message that could have been 60% shorter, because there is simply nothing to tell except for the fact a man was stabbed to death while eating in a crowdy restaurant and people try to raise money via GoFundMe because the family has no savings.
Is this news?
I do not think so. Many families or single parents are not able to save or simply think nothing will happen to them. They have no insurance for funerals nor life insurances. There are many parents who can not afford to have dinner in a restaurant at all. I guess if there is no news, news is made out of nothing
