I hope so! Maybe the next generation can then say "I want to become a memeist later in my life" "what do you mean?" "I want to make money by creating and posting memes and writing funny content."

there are already a few people who are able to life from the rewards they earn from steemit
absolutely! But right now it is still speculation - should interest wane in this platform their earned money out of a sudden would not be worth much anymore. So ultimately it depends on how well the community is developing long term.
