Bitcoin transactions are gradually approaching all-time high

In January, 10th, 2018, Bitcoin recorded the high transactions per day which is 425,008 tx. Consequently, the number of txs have dropped to 150,000 txs/day and keep holding firmly at this area throughout 2018. However, since July, 2018, the number of txs has been rising gradually day by day. In March, 2nd, 2019, the number of tx have reached 335,864 txs/day and have been rising since then. Does this mean accumulation is taking place? We don’t know but let’s look at the chart, BTC has been holding at 3k area for approximately 3 months compared to 5 months of 6k. Many investors believe that 3k is the first target for the whales to accumulate then if BTC fell further, they will accumulate even more. However, let’s not forget that Lightning Network is also growing rapidly which means adoption is slowly taking place as well.

TOR project, one of the popular anonymous browser has decided to research further into LN for donation

In a recent tweet by Fundraising Director of Tor Project, Sarah Stevenson have replied to Ziya Sadr: ”We are close to launching methods other than BitPay for donating cryptocurrency. Send me a direct message about LN so I can research more.”

Tether will release a stablecoin on Tron

Justin Sun has announced the partnership between USDT and TRX. Tether will issue a new stable based on TRC-20 protocol. The new stablecoin is estimated to be released by the second quarter of 2019.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has published a draft digital assets guidelines

On Feb, 28th, FATF released a draft guidelines for crypto on its website. The guidelines asks countries to enforce adequate regulation, supervision for digital assets. Additionally, FATF also requires digital asset providers to keep data of their customers to provide in case other countries need it.

Switcheo introduced OTC platform

On Feb, 28th, Switcheo Network announced the launch of their OTC platform. To encourage traders trying out the platform, all OTC trades will not be charged trading fees.
