RE: The Impact of America’s Wars on Freedoms and Democracy at Home
This is actually one of the most frightening posts I have seen. I am certain that much along these lines is being effected behind the scenes today, particularly given the present administrations espousal of torture, assassination, and jailing of journalists.
I fully expect to see such roundups and internments in my lifetime, here in America, and taking full advantage of the present legal environment that has sprung from 9/11, the Patriot Act, and the legal opinion of John Yee (Yoo? Legal Counsel to Shrub43) that the President has legal right to crush the testicles of a child to interrogate his parents.
The USG has already assassinated an American child on foreign soil and publicly acknowledged that the assassination was predicated on zero information or accusation of criminal activity of any kind on the part of the murdered child.
Many people dismiss all this evidence of what is going to happen to them, because they don't want to know bad truth, amongst other reasons. When the SHTF, people will become realists. Being a realist in a camp while your children are tortured will not be pleasant. I'd prefer it if they took action now, personally, to oppose this possibility, and it's eventuation.
Thanks!
We live in an era of 24/7 entertainment. Social media madness, and yet almost everyone fails to see the elephant in the room. The masses have been far to complacent for far too long, and this is the result.
Imagine if everyone (except for emergency services) took a week off work at the same time?
Won't happen though, most people enjoy their servitude.
I actually do enjoy making and fixing stuff for my neighbors. I don't mind being of service to my neighbors, and they like to show their appreciation, too. Tonight one brought over a beer, and another brought over stiryfry. Good people back each other up. Nothing better than that in America.
That kind of lifestyle isn't common for most people anymore though.
I've noticed that there is distrust of neighbors, many are worried about lawsuits etc.
Big cities in the US are becoming urban combat zones, filled with trash, human waste and general apathy.
I'd like to be more optimistic, reality just plain sucks for most of the population.
Well, unlike family, and like your nose, you can pick your neighbors.
