Roundup Herbicide Causing Cancer? Monsanto/Bayer Ordered to Pay $289 Million USD Compensation In Landmark Case.

After many years of activism and scientific 'debate' a world first court case in America has deemed Monsanto/Bayer's best selling herbicide 'Roundup' to have been causal to some (undefined) extent in a man's likely fatal cancer.

Thousands of other court cases are lined up to follow in the footsteps of this one, meaning that Bayer's recent purchase of Monsanto for $66 Billion USD may have been a significant error.

As numerous news sources have reported, Dewayne Johnson, developed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma not long after an accident at work where he was 'doused' in Roundup. His body is now covered in legions and he is expected to pass on in the next 2 years from his ill health.

Monsanto "acted with malice, oppression or fraud and should be punished for its conduct," Judge Suzanne Ramos Bolanos announced in court.

In announcing the verdict, Bolanos read a list of questions the jury was presented regarding the safety of Roundup and whether its users could foresee any risks associated with it.

"Did Monsanto know or should reasonably have known that users would not realize the danger?"

"Did Monsanto fail to adequately warn of the danger?"

"Was Monsanto’s failure to warn a substantial factor in causing harm to Johnson?"

To each of those questions, the jury’s response was, “Yes.’’

The defence legal team tried to win on the basis that there was no total proof that their client's product had caused the illness, however, as the World Health Organisation has stated that Glyphosphate (used in Roundup) 'Probably' causes cancer - they had a grey area to deal with. The argument was made that the synergistic effect of the other ingredients in Roundup caused the cancer, not just Glyphosphate.

The defence argued that hundreds of studies had shown Roundup/Glyphosphate to be safe. However, as pointed out by the New York Times in 2017, another court case had exposed leaked emails from inside Monsanto that show that they essentially knew then that they could not say that their product was not a cause of cancer:

In a 2002 email, a Monsanto executive said, “What I’ve been hearing from you is that this continues to be the case with these studies — Glyphosate is O.K. but the formulated product (and thus the surfactant) does the damage.”

In a 2003 email, a different Monsanto executive tells others, “You cannot say that Roundup is not a carcinogen … we have not done the necessary testing on the formulation to make that statement.”

Monsanto/Bayer say they will appeal the case and decision.

Like most of us, I am not in a position to prove or disprove whether Roundup is a cause of cancer or not. However, I am in a position to research the big business practices and techniques commonly used to bypass proper scientific study and transparency, since I am able to listen to whistleblowers from numerous related industries who have exposed the way that the corporations often deliberately lie and use their massive wallets to buy off 'scientists' in order to sell their agenda. While I am not in a position to fully know the truth of this specific case, I am able to point to previous case history relating to Roundup.

In 2014, a study was published in Environmental Studies Europe that demonstrated that both Monsanto GMO food products and Roundup were associated with causing giant tumours in rats.

The mortality of the rats appears to have increased when Roundup was used in producing the feed, as compared to when Roundup was not used:

The following video demonstrates some of Monsanto's history involving the creation of Agent Orange and DDT (Which caused generations of destruction in the jungle areas that they were used in by the Military in previous wars). Aspartame is another of Monsanto's creations. Another of Monsanto's products rBGH, used to increase dairy milk production, also has links to cancer and has been banned.

I am tired of hearing, over and over, of how major chemical corporations infest government and then try to say their products are safe due to the pronouncements of that same government and the studies associated with various related scientists. It has long been shown by numerous whistleblowers from within these industries that scientists are bought off and controlled via numerous methods and so it is very difficult for anyone without actual lab access and scientific training to know who is telling the truth. I refer you here to Dr. Peter Rost, who, as Ex VP of Marketing for a major pharma corporation (that was caught fudging sales figures and various other crimes) - blew the whistle on their corrupt practices:

Then there is the alleged case of Bayer knowingly distributing vaccines infected with the HIV Virus! Who would make this up? Apparently it was covered by many major news outlets and I have not yet seen it debunked, despite looking:

In short, I find this new court case to be encouraging in that it motivates a great deal of attention from an ever wider field to truly get to the truth of the science of Monstano/Bayer and it's products. If Monsanto/Bayer are as unscrupulous as the history books tell us they are, then there is maybe some possibility that their massive budget will be taken from them and given to those in the world who are in need - that would be quite an experience!
