How Strong is Steem's Community? 'FCAS' - A New Measure of Project Success for Crypto Tokens Added To CoinMarketCap.com.
CoinMarketCap announced today that they have integrated a new feature called 'Fundamental Crypto Asset Score' which is said to measure many paramaters relating to crypto projects to assess their viability... Let's take a look.
FCAS is an index and scoring system calculated by combining data relating to the project's Github/coding activity level, it's user activity level on the blockchain and other metrics. The idea being that it should be possible to assess how relatively active a cryptocurrency project is, both in terms of end users and developers - such that investors can have more to go on when making decisions of which projects to explore and buy into.
Steem Ranks a Class 'C' and is just about in the top 50%
As you can see on the coin market cap page for steem, the FCAS for Steem ranks it on the borderline between average and great:
As we move up the league table in CMC, the scores get better, with both BAT and DASH scoring an 'A':
Strangely, EOS scored an 'S', but was still in the top as far as the numerical score goes - I havent been able to find out what 'S' means yet.. It could even be a bug.
Currently Ethereum and Bitcoin are at the top of the ranks, with ZRX at the same level of them - which was something of a surprise to me.
Wishing you well,

Yeah I want to do some more research as well. S is the top rating that you can get so I don't understand how EOS can be so high while Dan also created Steem and it can be an S.
Cardano is an A and does it even have a main net or any dapps running yet. If so I haven't heard of any and so I'm confused at how cardano is ranked higher than Steem.
I imagine they are using stats that are more finance related, while claiming the data is more about other types of stats. Where did you see the reference to S being the best?
https://partiko.app/@dragosroua/crypto-ratings-added-to-coinmarketcap-steem-is-getting-a-c I guess he just says he assumes S means superb. I thought i saw some numbers in screenshots and it looked like cryptos with s rankings had the most points followed by A then B so just assuming S is the best I guess.

I play video games a lot and S is always the best rank you can get in those, that's how I know. :P
These ratings, i can only conclude from the presented, originate from the butt region, i.e. someone pulled them out of their ass.
None of this makes any sense.
I'll agree with that.
Steem is C while Doge is B. I don't get it. Steem is more sexy than anyone else I guess, it should be A or attractive...

I don't know exactly how it's calculated - it could be that Doge coin has more active trading and that is weighted more heavily than other factors.
I think one of the metrics is age of the crypto/blockchain so doge has been around for a while and that could help its score.
