Supreme Court Endorses Government Authority to Detain Immigrants

The US Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States of America, ruled on Tuesday that immigrants convicted of crimes can be placed in indefinite detention at any time - not just immediately after serving prison sentences.

And they can be held without bail.

In February 2018, the Supreme Court "curbed the ability of immigrants held in long-term detention during deportation proceedings to argue for release."
