California's 7 Year Drought Ends; Butterflies Boom
The U.S. National Drought Mitigation Center reports that California's 7 year drought has officially ended. Water levels have been increasing since winter 2017.
Only 7% of the US state still experiencing "abnormally dry" conditions.
Thanks to increased snow and rainfall, the state is enjoying a "super bloom" of wildflowers. This in turn has led to a booming butterfly population.
Experts say that it has been 14 years since they have recorded such massive numbers of the painted lady species of butterfly in California.
