Ethereum Blockchain Unexpectedly Splits In Two!

in #news8 years ago

I was not able to google any corroborating stories or reach any responsible parties, but according to CryptoCoin News the Ethereum Blockchain has split into two chains that are operating in parallel to each other. This means that all the nodes of the blockchain are not operating in consensus. Users have been warned to refrain from using the system until it is repaired. The accident occurred at approximately 3 PM London time. Exchanges have been warned to await a high number of confirmations before accepting transactions as complete.

Ethereum spokespersons said there is nothing to worry about as developers are working to correct the problem. They expect all operations to return to normal within hours. There should not be any bad consequences because all the data was saved on the blockchain though on different parts of the blockchain and the situation will resolve itself in time as nodes communicate with each other.

More technical details are available in my source article, Ethereum’s Blockchain Accidentally Splits, written by Andrew Quentson an hours ago.

I had mentioned in Polo that an ETH hard fork should be problematic, owing to it's history. I think that there are way too many cooks in this broth. In my opion of course. But, it is fun to watch.

Run away from this token as soon as possible.

Interesting for sure!
