Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Navy declared readiness for military operations with Russia

The naval forces of Ukraine (Navy) are preparing for full-scale hostilities with Russia. This was announced by Rear Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa in an interview with the Dumskaya newspaper.
According to the commander in chief, Ukraine intends to "return" Crimea, and is also preparing for war with Russia.
"There will be many losses - both our soldiers and the civilian population," Neijpapa said.
According to him, in Kiev they expect an attack by the Russian army in the Kherson region with the aim of letting the Dnieper water into the Crimea.
"Our units are preparing for such actions. I can’t disclose all the plans, but here’s a small fact: the range of the Neptune missile system allows you to use it from mainland Ukraine on the approaches to Sevastopol. We’ll see there," Neijpapa said.
The signal for the start of the confrontation will be Russia's attempt to restore the North Crimean Canal on the peninsula, Rear Admiral added.

Earlier, Ukraine provided up to 85% of Crimea’s fresh water needs through the North Crimean Canal coming from the Dnieper. However, after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the water supply through the canal to the republic was completely unilaterally stopped.
Ukrainian politicians refuse to restore the supply of water to the peninsula, but regularly declare about Russia's "plans" to seize the North Crimean Canal. In fact, there are fresh water sources in the republic.
In recent years, the Ukrainian Navy has been experiencing serious problems. Old ships are gradually failing, and new ones lack funds. At the same time, Kiev is actively purchasing foreign decommissioned ships. So, in September last year, the US Coast Guard handed over to Kiev two decommissioned patrol boats, Drummond (WPB-1323) and Cushing (WPB-1321), built in 1988. The United States also announced a decision to transfer two more decommissioned patrol boats of this type to the Ukrainian Navy.
