Does Equifax's Credit Monitoring Service Bar Users From Joining a Class-Action Suit Against Them?
Today I got an email from Consumers Union asking me to sign a petition to have the U.S. Congress add more laws to protect consumers from data breaches like the recent breach at Equifax.
One of their claims is that if you sign up for Equifax's credit-monitoring service, you cannot join any class-action lawsuit against the company.
This is not true.
Snopes has the truth: "Those who user TrustedID Premier do not give up their right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or arbitration against Equifax over the 2017 data breach."
What we need is someone to create a blockchain technology that these companies can use to encrypt your data!
Do you agree?
