Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban of Bangladesh is one of the world's spectacular legislative buildings.Specially built buildings for carrying out parliamentary activities of Bangladesh. The first initiative of building this parliament building was then taken by the Pakistani government before liberation war. The Pakistani military government declared Dhaka as the second capital of Pakistan. In this form, a plan was made to build a parliament building in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka in 1959. In 1961, 208 acres of land was acquired in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar of Dhaka for the construction of this building. The renowned US architect Louis Kahn, the original name Itze-Leib (Leiser-Itze) Schmuilowsky (Schmalowski), was responsible for designing this building. In 1962, Kahn was submitted the building Design to the government. In 1964, According to this design It was approved for the construction of the building, $ 10 million. During the liberation war of Bangladesh (1971), its construction was stopped. In 1974, the work was restarted according to the original plan. In 1974, Kana died.
Note that,In 1989, it received 'The Aga Khan' Award for Architectural highest international award for 'Architecture for the National Assembly Building'. Engineer Mazharul Islam (the disciple of Louis Kahn) completed the remaining work after the ear's death. But in this case, the original plan was greatly modified. Its construction ended in 1982. It was inaugurated on 28 January by Justice Abdus Sattar. Ultimately, the cost to complete the work was 32 million US dollars. The first parliament session was held in this building on February 15, 1982.

The original building is divided into three major parts. These are the main plaza, the south plaza and northern plaza.
The main four roads on the complex (Lake Road on the north, Rokeya Sarani on the east, Manik Mia Avenue on the south; and Mirpur Road on the west).There is an artificial lake surrounded of the building so that it seems, the whole building is floating on the water. There is a provision of 354 members sitting in the main parliament session. There are two podiums and two galleries, which are important for sitting in important people. Full round ceiling were used the transparent materials and geometric techniques for lighting in the sitting room. Sunlight is reflected in the surrounding walls and octagonal drums and enters the sitting room. Its first floor is a library. The main committee rooms have a block on the second floor. There are offices of all types of parliamentary activities, ministers, chairperson and standing committee. There are also some office allotments for the parliamentary secretary in the same building. The third floor is a lounge for the MPs; And on the floor there is the auditorium.
