Ukraine conflict Russia trying to starve Mariupol into rendition-MP

A Ukrainian MP has indicted Russia of trying to starve the besieged harborage megacity of Mariupol into surrendering.
Dmytro Gurin was speaking soon after Ukraine rejected a Russian deadline demanding Mariupol's protectors lay down their arms in exchange for safe passage out of the megacity.
Mariupol is a crucial strategic target for the Russian service.
Around people are believed to be trapped there with inventories running out and aid blocked from entering.
Residers have endured weeks of Russian hail with no power or running water.
Mr. Gurin said there was no interrogative of Mariupol handing over.
"Russians don't open humanitarian corridors, they don't let humanitarian convoys enter the municipality and we fluently see now that the thing of the Russians is to start to( produce) hunger (in the megacity) to apply for their position in the politic process and if the megacity doesn't surrender, and the megacity won't surrender, they will not let people out. They will not let philanthropic convoys into the megacity."
Under the offer, which Ukraine had until 0500 Moscow time (0200 GMT) to accept, Russian colors would have opened safe corridors out of Mariupol from 1000 Moscow time (0700 GMT), originally for Ukrainian colors and" foreign mercenaries" to disarm and leave the megacity.
After two hours, Russian forces say they would also have allowed philanthropic convoys with food, drug, and other inventories to enter the megacity safely, once the thede-mining of the roads was complete.
But the deadline came and went.
Should Russia capture Mariupol, it would help it produce a land corridor between the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, controlled by Russian- backed secessionists and Crimea, which was adjoined by Russia in 2014. So far, however, Mariupol's protectors have stood establishment.
