Is there the chance we may be on the verge of another World War? The answer is that we have been in a World War for quite some time now. Is this event comparable to the events leading to WWI ? No its not, times have changed and so has the world.
I don't think this incident will be used as an excuse for a war but we have seen through history: if the world wants war, they will do it; any excuse can be used. I agree a bit that we have been in a world war for a while but not with military means. We the nationalism and protectionist spirit so high it will be no wonder if someone start to drop nuclear bombs to show their power.
