MAJOR Censorship As EU Copyright Rule Could Ruin YouTube!

Out of the EU's new copyright directive with YouTube, there could be a major force of censorship that could affect everyone! Users might end up having their own content removed and be banned from YouTube entirely! Article 13 will force major platforms like YouTube to scan through everything uploaded to them and ensure that nothing in it includes copyrighted content. Campaigners argue that could force companies to ban memes that use pictures or gifs from existing media, and that it could damage the way that social networks operate. The Independent says:

The company said that YouTube could be forced to stop allowing normal users to upload videos, instead concentrating them in the hands of a small number of big companies. Viewers in the EU could be blocked from viewing some videos and small creators could be ruined, the company said.

This was from YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki in her outrage. People could lose their livelihood and what we bring out of the EOC could be completely censored! EU lawmakers have voted through the new rules and their wording could be finalised by the end of the year. The directive is expected to go into force soon after that. As of now, the expected month is January should this pass. If the CEO of YouTube is outraged about this, it can't be good. It will leave only a few major companies with the ability to upload to YouTube, and small content creators could be booted off. This will be affecting FaceBook as well.

Basically, if you upload anything that you don't own, you're gone! No memes, no clips from other videos, no music you haven't created, and the list goes on! We've been warning of this kind of censorship and it is only the beginning!
