The UK-Russia Skripal Novichok poisoning affair takes a suspicious turn.

in #news6 years ago

In less than 36 hours Yulia Skripal went from being on death's door with no chance of recovery to talking, moving and thinking about leaving hospital. I'm not going to rush to conclusions, but surely this is inconsistent with British claims that she was poisoned with the nerve agent Novichok, the most deadly chemical in the world that is reportedly eight times more fatal than VX.

I can't escape the sense that we are being lied to similar to the infamous 'dodgy dossier', which kicked off the Iraq War but was later proven to be a complete fabrication.

There needs to be greater public transparency in this affair, especially before we go jumping into another ill-conceived war.

This Twitter user summed up my feelings succinctly:

Perhaps they've agreed to "tow the line" and reiterate the UK government narrative, or merely just been persuaded to keep their mouths shut.
