Morgan Freeman isn't the first Hollywood celebrity to work for the CIA.
In response to Morgan Freeman’s recent performance as charismatic spokesperson for James ‘lied under oath about domestic surveillance’ Clapper’s organisation ‘Investigate Russia’, the Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov compared the video to McCarthyist era Hollywood propaganda.
If you haven’t had a chance to view the video, here it is. It contains a few absolute zingers, most notably when he says ‘for 241 years, our democracy has been a shining example to the world of what we can aspire to be’. This is Morgan Freeman, a black man, saying this, who as a child wouldn’t have been able to pee in a ‘whites only’ public toilet in his native Tennessee.
As much as I hate to agree with the words of a Kremlin mouthpiece, Peskoy does have a point; this video is merely a continuation of the historic relationship between Hollywood and the US intelligence community. From the Hollywood Blacklist in the 1950s, to the CIA’s uncredited production role in Katherine Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty - which suspiciously parroted the agency’s views on the importance of ‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ (more commonly known to civilians as torture) at at time when the public was disgusted by the leaked photos of US torture in Abu Ghraib - the CIA have always had a secret directorial chair in tinseltown.
So who better than Morgan Freeman - a man famous for portraying God - to reignite the Cold War? The only surprising aspect of the video is that a man who is ostensibly intelligent as Freeman is able to keep a straight face when accusing Russia of destabilising democracies. You know, like the US did in Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guatemala, Chile or Libya?
Anyway, that’s enough Orwell-tier propaganda for the meanwhile. Let’s just hope that a Youtube video featuring the bloke from the Shawshank Redemption doesn’t result in transforming this planet into a dystopian nuclear wasteland.
Hollywood and the Deep State who work for the global elite are indeed becoming very desperate as more and more of their nefarious actions become exposed to daylight. Their production of this group and Morgan Freeman's video definitely proves we are having a huge world changing impact on the minds of truly discerning citizens. Hence the reason they are whipping out the big Hollywood guns and continuing to push the whole false narrative about Russia in order to keep the American people divided and marching along to this BS narrative. Morgan Freeman goes complete retard
The video and article itself is fine with me. It is the comments in response to it I am not sure I quite get. As someone who has been opposed to what the US government has done in the past, continues to do now and we all know will do in the future (in terms of messing with other countries) I completely understand how anyone outside of this system would hate it. There is no denying the US is a hegemonic power. There is absolutely no denying the relationship between the US government and Hollywood to promote nationalistic propaganda throughout our media. Absolutely no argument with anyone on that. But this is where you lose me: any defense of Putin is just as ridiculous. You do realize that he has been in just about complete control of the Russian political machine since 1999. Twenty years with nothing but his tightening of power, to where his rule is now fairly absolute and ANY political opponents end up dead or in jail. Oh, and after nationalizing all of the industries there he is now unofficially THE richest man on Earth. Since he has been in charge of Russia, the United States has undergone three democratic changes of power/ leaders/ ruling parties. His has had nothing but consolidation. So please do not defend him as being any better than anyone or government. They are ALL the same. It is when normal people see past that and begin to connect in a way that serves us and each other (and not our governments) that true freedom and connection will come. The US system is completely corrupted and dominated by special interests, so I am not saying it is any better. I am simply asking to stop choosing a side and begin to try and focus on team human. All of this other stuff is just noise and continues to divide us. Thanks for your time.

What has Putin's spokesman done that you feels "hate" toward agreeing with him?
It is likely just a habit to throw dirt at Russian government, so ingrained in western culture.
