European (EU) Court Rules Plant-Based Milks Can No Longer Be Advertised as "Milk."

On June 14th in Luxembourg the official EU court made a ruling declaring that companies such as the German-based company TofuTown could no longer "be marketed with designations such as milk, cream, butter, cheese, or yogurt" after the "Verband Sozialer Wettbewerb" association in Germany brought them to court (TofuTown) claiming they were unfairly marketing their product and tricking consumers into buying a non-dairy alternative by labeling it "Soya milk" or similar.

So what does this mean?
This means that no longer can a purely plant-based (Vegan) product be compared to milk in an advertisement in the European Union.

But what does this REALLY mean?
It shows that the Dairy industry is under serious fire (And I must clap my hands to that) and they're having to grasp at anything they can to try to stop this dumping of bovine-milk to plant-based alternatives.
This is especially made clear when you look into similar actions other Dairy associations in the USA have lobbied for similar actions, the most notable being the Dairy Pride Act which claims essentially the same thing, with the added complaint that this switch to plant-based alternatives "hurts dairy farmers that work tirelessly to ensure their dairy products meet FDA standards" as if that's a justifiable reason or anything but a way of something "we're losing profits to our competition, big daddy government please help us!"
It shows just quite how desperate they are, the Diary industry, to stifle non-dairy milk adoption.

So tonight I tip cheers a glass to you; a glass of that delicious white liquid I enjoy so much on and with my Muesli.
Almond milk, for you are who I stand behind, always healthier, always tastier, always cleaner, and always better for the environment. My love, Almond Milk, we will take those dairy farmers and make their wallets SCREAM(!) until they join us, till they abandon their cruel industry and produce more of you, my love, Almond Milk, their pocketbooks will tremble.
