AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young dead at 64

Malcolm Young who was the rhythm guitar player and founding member of heavy metal legends named AC/DC, has died, the group announced it on Saturday. He was 64 years old.

It's known that for the rhythm guitar and powerhouse riffs that propelled the group from Sydney, Australia, to super stardom, Malcolm Young had been suffering from dementia for the past 3 years, the Australian Associated Press report.

Malcolm Young died peacefully on 18th November with his family by his bedside,reported by the news agency.

Malcolm Young had started the band with his brother Angus Young in 1973.

“As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man,” Angus Young said on the AC/DC website. “He always stuck with his guns and said exactly what he did want. He did take great pride in all that he attempt. His loyalty to the fans was unmatched.

“As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special.

"Malcolm Young keeps behind a vast legacy that will survive on infinitely. Malcolm Young, job was done greatly."

Malcolm has been replaced by nephew Stevie for the band's last tour promoting the 2014 album Rock Or Bust.

"Renowned for his musical manliness, he was a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired by many," AC/DC said in a statement.

"From the foundation, he knew that what he wanted to get and, along with his younger brother Angus Young, took to the world stage by giving their all at every show. Nothing less would do for their fans."

He has survived by his wife named O'Linda and with his two children.
