Remember those Anti-GamerGate journalists? And how they slandered gamers? Accusing them of racism, homophobia and misogynistic tendencies?

Remember at the start of #Gamergate when journalists and online publications blasted all gamers as being neckbearded men living in their parent’s basement and who had racist, homophobic and misogynistic tendencies? I do, so the irony is not lost on me when these very same people get caught doing the exact same thing they accused gamers like me of representing. And in some cases even worse being prosecuted for rape, sharing of child pornography and other acts that can only be described as acts that can only be perpetrated by vile garbage human beings. The latest incident? Sam Kriss, @VICE games news contributor and frequent critic of gamers as misogynist, racist subhumans, apologizes to a sexual assault victim. The very same person who tweeted this a few months back:

But why stop there? Why don’t we see just how deep this rabbit hole in video game journalism goes? Remember Matt Hickey who famously said: “#GamerGate is a bunch of women-hating future rapists!” Well seems he is being accused of raping no less than three women. Using a fake “porn audition” scam to coerce multiple women into sleeping with him:

Well, fuck me right? Not to be outdone by Matt. Devin Faraci who said the following about #GamerGate supporters: “The losers in #GamerGate are mad at women because women want nothing to do with them!” Well, it seems he sexually assaulted and harassed multiple women, and is infamous for being a drunk bully. Who would have thought!

Hot on the heels of both Matt and Devin is Andy Signore who famously stated: “This character in ‘Wreck it Ralph’ is #GamerGate’s worst nightmare!” Well turns out he also likes to force himself on women without their consent:

And the fourth member of this “deplorable’s club” is Jian Ghomeshi with his hot take on the movement: “#GamerGate is our culture’s toxic masculinity on display!” Well shit son live comes hard at you I guess:

And number five in this group of six deplorable’s is “Male Feminist” Jammie Kilstein who like the other four in this “deplorable five” group likes to force themselves onto woman: “#GamerGate is about sexism, not ethics.”

And rounding off the final position is another Vice member being caught with his pants down so to speak, Micheal Hafford: “Zoe Quinn’s #GamerGate Abuse memoir is coming to the big screen”:

Well, shit, Micheal maybe you Matt, Jamie, Devin, Andy, and Jian should start a club or something. You six could be the honorary member? Can’t get any worse right? Yes, it can, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Christopher Goldberg a moderator at NeoGAF a video game related message board, who stated: “#GamerGate is NeoGAF’s fail of the year!” was found guilty on 64 counts of child porn:

Christopher, there is a special kind of hell for pedophiles like you who prey on children. So it seems we are covering every spectrum of the garbage rainbow. From bullies, sexual harassers, rapists and now even gun runners! Leland Yee should have checked before he famously tweeted: “Video games cause violence, as seen by #GamerGate’s violence against women!” And I shit you not! Guess who got caught running guns:

And how can we forget about good old Joss Whedon! The male ally to feminist everywhere: “#GamerGate … means hate [towards women]” All I can say is open mouth insert foot:

Turns out he has been cheating on his wife for years and luring women into bed under the guise of being a male feminist ally. Fucken irony at it’s best! Honourable mentions should go to Robert Marmolejo: “We need to take action against #GamerGate and the ideology that spawned it!” Who used his position at an anti-harassment network to harras woman:

And not forgetting Stuart Campbell: “GamerGate scum are the lowest of the low.” Who was arrested for harassment of a woman that spanned the course of two years. And last but not least. Juan Thompson: “#GamerGate threatens and victimizes vulnerable marginalized groups.” This upstanding fellow” made bomb threats against a Jewish community center.

The Alanis Morissette song “Ironic” comes to mind when reading through this list don’t you think? Yeah, I really do think. All these years being called out for being racist, homophobic and misogynistic just because we love to playing video games. Only to find out that these people are rapists, harassers, and pedophiles who are preaching about morals to the rest of the world. All the while having their cupboards opening up and all kinds of skeletons falling out of them. Isn’t it ironic?
