"Red July" A Brief History of the Sioux Wars and The Protests today over The North Dekota Access Pipeline.

The first Sioux war began in 1856 following the Grattan Massacre. This conflict ended in 1859 but was followed up by several others. The Dakota War of 1862, Colorado War of 1863, Powder River War of 1865, Red Cloud's War of 1866, Great Sioux War of 1876 which included the infamous battle of Little Big Horn, The Ghost Dance War of 1890 which included the Battle of wounded knee where 300 men women and children where killed by the United States Military.

Today's protests are a product of more American encroachment on Native Sioux reservation land in the state of North Dakota. The proposal to build an oil pipeline only a few miles from reservation land and potentially ruin the water supply for millions of people.

The Sioux Indians were once a proud people with an amazing culture. They where the greatest advisory that the pilgrims ever had to face and the conflicts we held with them lasted longer then Americas involvement in World War 2, yet banks and oil corporations still wish to threaten their sovereignty and the U.S. Military will be standing with the corrupt and powerful all for a dollar. This Is my stance in solidarity with the Sioux tribes still in North Dakota today that oppose the pipelines construction.
