I agree that some people need fired for bringing politics into the NFL, but I don't see Roger Goodell getting fired.
While fans hate Goodell, he won't ever get fired. He works for the owners and has made them incredible amounts of money. This anthem thing is not necessarily his doing. But the popularity of the NFL since he has taken over has skyrocketed. He's added a huge revenue stream with NFL Network, NFL.com, TV deals, Amazon streaming, TNF, SNF and games played in the UK. People forget that it isn't his job to be popular or to get fans to like him.
goodell has lent implicit support to these blm lies, and to the act of insulting fans with the kneeling. He has done this through his refual to enforece NFL rules against this...although he DID use those same rules to prevent the Cowboys for memorializing policemen killed by blm assassins, as well as preventing 9/11 memorials.
those actions have COST the league big time in revenue and viewership.
his sanctimonous words about domestic abuse dont match up when considering players on the teams whose owners are his friends
moving past that, his constant rules changes favoring high scoring passing games, and penalizing defensive play, have made the game boring
this is the short list, btw; I don't have the time to go into all of goodell's specific sins...the kneeling just cemented my view that he is a disaster for the league and the owners
