Facebook Killer, Steve Stephens Could Have Been A Great CopsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #news8 years ago (edited)

If you haven't heard about the tragedy, Steve Stephens randomly gunned down a retired man in Cleveland, OH.

And he live streamed it on Facebook.

The act was random, brutal, and super messed up.

It seems he had issues with his girlfriend and a gambling addiction. And this was the solution.

The Facebook killer could have been a great cop

He fit many of the requirements that make up the best cops on the force.

Mentally unstable - Check ✅

Randomly aggressive - Check ✅

Cold blooded killer - Check ✅

Consider themselves above the law - Check ✅

See what I mean?

This guy is now dead, but he could have been an asset to these bozos.

Too bad.

Cops are dangerous. Avoid them at all cost.

I am a Voluntaryist. I respect others and their property. I don't go around hurting others or making problems for anyone else. I am proud of my Eagle Scout rank and for my accomplishments helping the communities I have lived in.

Yet for no legitimate reason, I have been harassed repeatedly and had my property stolen by these men called police.

For others, it is much worse.

All cops are on the wrong side of morality. The bad apples example is a joke. The "good cops" protect the "bad ones" and are therefore not good.  The whole lot of them still choose to enforce unjust laws.

The moral of the story?

Cops are just as bat shit crazy as the Facebook killer.

Avoid them.

Travel in groups, so you can protect yourself.

I believe it is time we stop hiring government thugs and police. They go around hurting others and for the most part, only protect themselves and their interests.

Learn about replacing police with threat management specialists.

I do not fully agree with what you lay out to be the qualifications to become a police officer, but I do think that there is a worrying lack of oversight for "law enforcement". As such I believe a privatization of police forces should be in order. That way, a community could dictate how the police are to conduct themselves and officers or entire forces can be discharged more easily for transgressions

The qualifications I listed are a bit extreme and are not the "official requirements" for officers. I was balancing satire and truth in the same prose.
I think we are on the same page 😊

👍

No wonder he went batshit. Look at that fuckin mug! A face only a mother could love!

Very true bud, cops could be an individuals worst nightmare at times

Yeah, like individuals that break the law.

You don't necessarily need to break the law to be harassed by them though.

Very true. I've been a victim of it. But most cops are straight. But such is life a few bad apples everywhere and in everything.

You are very right, the presence of bad eggs are usually responsible for stalling the effort of good ones,.

A few bad apples spoil the bushel.

IMHO the law should be the constitution and the 10 commandments and nothing more.

But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain — that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist.—Lysander Spooner, No Treason

The law has been used to destroy its own objective: It has been applied to annihilating the justice that it was supposed to maintain; to limiting and destroying rights which its real purpose was to respect. The law has placed the collective force at the disposal of the unscrupulous who wish, without risk, to exploit the person, liberty, and property of others. It has converted plunder into a right, in order to protect plunder. And it has converted lawful defense into a crime, in order to punish lawful defense.—Frédéric Bastiat, The Law

The Constitution is inherently corrupt, and I don't trust any monopoly enforcement of law, especially when they claim to act in God's name to enforce His laws.

So then what's your suggestion?

Use individual rights to life, liberty, and property along with a decentralized justice system to resolve disputes. Monopolies always promote waste and abuse. The State is the irrational religious belief that a small group of people who call themselves "government" and claim a territorial monopoly in violence can somehow provide justice despite perpetual trespass against those very rights they claim to protect.

So for example if someone broke into your house and you caught them in the act of robbing you or you were away but got them on tape what would happen? Walk me through it. Genuinely curious.

How is travelling in groups going to protect you against cops? That only works for women trying to avoid getting drugged at the club.

I don't agree with most of what you said and using this tragedy for the sakes of this post is pretty fucking weak bro, but you are right on about one thing: the shit cops are protected by the good cops. Most of the time its not because the good cops want to; they are mandated by their unions and superiors who answer to said unions. I've got friends who are pretty good cops and people and there is nothing that they hate more than the lazy, incompetent, corrupt, etc co-workers no one can ever fire because of the system. If it wasn't for the unions, they'd be gone the next day.

Traveling in groups and having people nearby helps. If a cop tries to violate your rights, steal your property, or attack you, your friends can help you out. It could be defending with force or just chasing them off. It is not wise to face a cop alone. They are well armed and have the freedom to open carry basically whatever they want. Derrick Broze (https://www.facebook.com/derrick.broze) lays out a similar model with his "freedom cells" concept. Groups of property respecting individuals who can show up and have your back. A cop will leave if 20 people show up and say "you're a criminal, leave" and if necessary force the cop to leave.

We don't have to agree on everything and I'm glad you see issues in the police system as a whole. You might not see things from my point of view until the cops hurt you or take your stuff.

I've had a pretty shit life, there's not much the police here can do to me that's worse. Even so I know some shit cops and some great cops. Same with any other profession. A bus driver has the right to kick you off after you paid, parting you from your money. A car salesman is guaranteed to rip you off and put your life at risk. Casinos will take everything you ever earned through pure mind control. Cops at least have a beneficial side; lots of far worse things out there.

I look at the Facebook link but it doesn't list this guy's credentials. If he had a PhD or was a retired somebody, I'd read his stuff.

Anyways, a cop will call for backup and fuck up the entire group. The police are the biggest gang in the world. Ask a cop what would happen next time you see one, they'll explain just how fast they can get the entire county there.

All your examples should be voluntary interactions, you can use a different bus service, you can buy a car elsewhere (I buy my vehicles on craigslist and have had great experiences), you never have to step foot in a casino. I have done all of these without trouble. The worst experience of my life was a situation dealing with cops.

You don't have to have a PhD to write or come up with something intelligent or revolutionary. I know plenty of people who have PhD's and are as dumb as a box of rocks.

We agree that they police are a gang, and they will definitely call for backup. But people need to stand up for themselves and numbers help. In the words of Thomas Jefferson:
" The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure."

Interaction with police can be voluntary -- just have to move to a place where there are no cops. Then you're responsible for your own safety. The only way to correct the police and the system is from the inside.
