Aston Martin warns UK government of leaving the EU

in #news7 years ago (edited)

Aston Martin's chief financial officer states that they would face extra cost and a lot more bills for this. His statement below is given in the Business Energy and Industrial Strategy committee.

We need to make sure that (VCA) type approval carries over, it has validity and has recognition and it has equivalence it has today"..."Otherwise there is a significant costs involved for us, not only in resourcing to another type approval... but also the semi-catastrophic effect of having to stop production because we only produce cars in the UK"

Let me know what you think about this. Could Aston Martin be that much affected? I think it could. However, Aston Martin isn't exactly great value for Money, even compared to many other of its rivals. Aston Martin produces vehicles that rivals the big V12 Ferraris and the lower end of sports/supercars with their V8 Vantage model. From people that driven these vehicles, they say that Porsche's are better in terms of quality and in many occasions, performance.

For example, the Aston Martin Vanquish S is a V12 normally aspirated sports car that produces 600 bhp for example, costs about £200000. This is possibly about twice that of some of the high performance German sports sedan that have similar power, possibly with better build quality, reliability and practicality. This doesn't stop people from buying Aston Martin, because people buy Aston Martins because they are ASTON MARTINS!!! They don't seem to care all that much about the extra cost of an Aston compared to other vehicles LOL. I therefore don't see the increase of price affecting them too much, if it does it will be temporary.

But that's what I think, let me know what you think about this.
