Rakesh Maria was the former Commissioner of Police he played an important role in the investigation in many cases like Bombay serial blasts case in 1993, Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts case in 2003, and 26/11 attacks in 2008.
Director of the hit movie 'Raazi' Meghna Gulzar is going to direct a web series on Rakesh Maria. Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films, and Meghna Gulzar will collaborate to produce this web series which will focus on the cases handled by Rakesh Maria during his career. Rakesh Maria retired from his job last year after serving the police department for 36 years.

He was a contoversial cop and such cops can be featured in the webseries as it has got the entertainment value. Webseries is a new mechanism to attract the controversies as it attracts more viewers
