Greetings!

It's time to give a rundown of my selection of the top 5 news this week! Maybe you didn't get the chance to hear them or you were simple too distracted by your duties. Whatever the reason, this post's purpose is to update yourself about the world's recent happenings selected by yours truly.

5. Republican Senator John McCain Dies at 81

Unfortunately, this week we also have an important person's death by the hands of cancer. Arizona Senator John McCain, an american war hero, republican rebel who frequently challenged his republican party and Barack Obama's rival at the 2008 elections, died by brain cancer at the age of 81.

He was accompanied by her wife and children at his last moments. Interestingly enough, Ted Kennedy, another prominent american senator, also died by the same cause, on the same date (John in 2018 and Ted in 2009). History does repeat itself.

4. Usain Bolt is Officially a Professional Soccer Player

Jamaican star eight-times olympic gold medalist oficially entered the world of professional soccer today, having played his first pro game with the Australian A-League Central Coast Mariners. The number on his back is 95, referencing his track record of 9.58 seconds.

He played for almost 20 minutes and touched the ball many times entering ad minute 71. His team won 6-1, so it's definitely a good start for the olympic legend in the world of soccer.

3. A Mysterious Falling Giant Fire Ball Intrigues Australia

A so-called "Fire Ball", often mentioned to be an interstellar visitor, scared hundreds of people and altered the behavior of the animals found in Perth, east Australia.

The big meteor was seen august 28th in the skies of Australia and experts say it is very probable that the ball impacted the earth. Perth's observatory is analyzing security camera's footage to discover the origin of said fire ball. According to some witnesses, the animals and pets nearby changed drastically their behavior when the ball was flying across Australian's skies.

2. American 9 Year Old Kid Declares Himself as Homosexual and Later Commits Suicide

Jamel Myles of nine years of age lived in Denver, Colorado. He was very proud of his sexuality and decided to share the news with his family and school friends. His family was very supportive, of course. But his classmates weren't. They were supposedly so brutal with their bullying that Jamel committed suicide a few days after.

This only shows that bullying continues to grow in all environments, sepecially in the school setting. Local authorities informed that a group of social workers will talk with the classmates to control the situation and better educate them about the dangers of bullying.

1. Europe to Propose an End to Daylight Savings

The European Commission will propose to scrap daylight savings time across the European Union, president Jean-Claude Juncker says. More than 80 per cent of EU citizens wanted to abolish the EU's switch and favored keeping the time used in summer for the whole year.  

"Millions ... believe that summertime should be all the time."  Any change would still need approval from national governments and European Parliament to become law.
