Erling Haaland is loving life as a Manchester City player, and particularly working under Pep Guardiola.

The Norwegian has hit the ground running this season, having 12 goals to his name already. Ten of those have come in the Premier League.

"He's a football fanatic just like I am," Haaland told Telemundo Deportes.

"We both love football. He was a player and now he's a coach, and he's crazy about football.

"That's something I like a lot because he thinks about everything and how we can improve. That's something I like about him."

There had been some doubts about Haaland and how he would fit at City, given the system they play.

"It's a complicated system," Haaland said. "But I'm trying to internalise it as soon as possible.

"I can't waste any time.

"I know my own qualities, I know how good the team I've joined are. I was a bit surprised [to have started so well], but it's not a huge shock."

Haaland's praise of Man City

"It's a nice club with very good people," Haaland said. "They've been very good to me from the beginning.

"It's always hard to change countries, leagues, clubs, but they've helped a lot and I'm very happy."

Erling Haaland has opened up on life under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, discussing his arrival at the club and his new manager's philosophy.

Haaland moved to City from Borussia Dortmund this summer in a deal worth £51m and has hit the ground running in English football.

The Norwegian forward has already scored 12 goals in all competitions for his new club, taking to life in England like a duck to water despite question marks over how he'd fare in Guardiola's intricate system.

Speaking to Telemundo Deportes, Haaland discussed his relationship with Guardiola: "He's a football fanatic just like I am.

"We both love football. He was a player and now he's a coach, and he's crazy about football.

"That's something I like a lot because he thinks about everything and how we can improve. That's something I like about him."

Discussing the transition period that comes with switching clubs and trying to integrate into City's style of play as seamlessly as possible, Haaland admitted he finds it 'complicated' but maintained that he was acclimatising well: "I'm trying to internalise it as soon as possible."

Erling Haaland is having the best time of his career playing for Manchester City, especially playing for Coach Pep Guardiola.

Following his £51 million summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund in July, the 22-year-old sensation has scored two hat-tricks and a total of 12 goals in only eight games after integrating himself into City’s lineup with ease.

Despite his record-breaking start to the season, Haaland acknowledged that it has taken him some time to adjust to his manager’s expectations on the field.

“He’s a football fanatic just like I am,” Haaland was eager to compare his method of playing football to that of Guardiola as he spoke to Telemundo Deportes.

Given the system City uses, there had been some uncertainty regarding Haaland and how he would fit in.

In his Premier League debut against West Ham, Haaland scored twice before contributing an assist to Man City’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth.

The Norwegian striker has since scored 10 goals in his past five games across all competitions, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest and, most recently, a brace against Sevilla in the Champions League.
