Chennai. In the Mahabalipuram of Tamil Nadu famously known as Mr Krishna's butterball, weighing 250 tonnes and 20 feet high, this rock has not got any shake till today. This rock is 5 meters wide, situated on the slope of a mountain of less than 4 feet. It is believed that Lord Krishna loves butter and it fell from heaven while eating butter.

In Tamlis this chatta is called vaniracal, which means the stone of the god of the sky. This rock is located in such a way that it looks like it will just come down from the slope, but it is stable in its place and tourists can sit in its shadow.

Even tsunamis, earthquakes or cyclones can not move this rock. This rock has been steady at its place for more than 1200 years. In fact, this rock looks like a cm circle, one part is fragmented, but no matter how the rock breaks, nobody knows about it.

Some people say that the reason for the stability of the rock can be friction and gravity center. They believe that friction prevents the rock or the ball from slipping down, due to which it is tilted on the ground, whereas the gravity center gives it balance to stand in the small contact area. While many people believe that this rock was kept in the present state by the Gods because they wanted to prove their power thousands of years ago. Whatever reason behind the status of this butterball, but it has proved the science unsuccessful.

There is also a story related to this rock. In 1908, Governor Arthur Lolli, the Governor of Madras, decided to remove this rock because he feared that the rock would fall from the top of the hill and do not damage the city settled in the foothills. So he took the help of seven elephants to remove the rock but the rock did not slip an inch from its place.
