Chhat puja

The unique Lokperv Chhath of the Sun worship is celebrated mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the lowlands of Nepal in eastern India. In Bihar, this festival is celebrated as a state festival. In the metros like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai, and also in the suburbs, migrant Bihari and people of Uttar Pradesh have started celebrating this festival on a large scale. This festival is celebrated twice a year. For the first time in Chaitra and the second time in Kartik The festival to be celebrated on Chaiti Chhath and Kartik Shukla Paksha Sishtha, which is celebrated on Chaitra Shuklpaksha Secti, is called Kartik Chhath.

Chhath fast is like a hard penance. Generally this fast is performed by women, but some men also follow this fast. The woman who is fasting is called Parvatine. In this fast of four days, fasting is to fast. Along with food, one has to sacrifice a pleasant bed. In the room made for the festival, the vatai spend the night with the help of a blanket or a sheet on the floor. People who attend this festival wear new clothes. But vratis wear such clothes, which do not have any type of sewing. Women wear sari and men wearing dhoti followed by Chhath fast.
