2 women murdered for dowry

Sultana Rani Howlader (18) has been accused of killing her husband in Jhalakathi's Kanthalia upazila. On Wednesday night, police recovered his body from his in-laws' house in Bapu Bazar area of ​​the upazila.

Meanwhile, allegations of murder of Lakhshi Rani Das (25), a housewife, were found to have been sued for demanding dowry on the Taluka of Satkhira. Housewife's husband and his family members are absconding after the incident. This incident happened on Thursday night at Terhei village under the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Sultana Kanthalia Upazila, Shipon Bali, wife of Paresh Chandra Bali of Bapu Bazar area. His father's house in village Zoar Karuna of Betagi upazila. Sultana SSC examination was scheduled to come from a school in Kanthalia upazila.

Sultana's father Bimal Chandra Halder said, a year before, Sultana and Shipon were married. On Wednesday night, Shipon pressed her mother-in-law for dowry as a dowry for her half-million rupees. The issue of Shipan and Sultan is debated in the matter. At one stage, Shipon killed Sultana to death. Afterwards, they spoke of suicide by pouring poison on their face.

Refuting the allegation, Shipon Bali said, "My wife committed suicide by poisoning herself in the air because of family conflict."

Kathalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge M Shawkat Anwar Islam said a case has been filed with Kanthalia police station in this connection. After the autopsy, the exact cause of death can be known.

The deceased Laksmi Rani Das is the wife of Bipul Chandra Das of Terihi village and a daughter of Asim Kumar Das of Keshabpur upazila.

Police arrested two housewife mother-in-law, including the mother-in-law, for allegedly involved in the incident.

Laksmi Rani Das's grandfather Gora Chand Basu said that he often tortured his granddaughter to demand huge dowry. In the same sequence, Bipul, his elder brother, his elder brother's wife and other family members tied up and killed Laksmi Rani Das and campaigned, and he committed suicide by roping in the neck. When they got to the house, they went to the house at around 12:30 pm and found that Laksmi Rani was kept in the verandah. His body pierced his thighs, throat, head, nose, and bleeding. Later, the police handed over the body to the relatives after the autopsy.

In this incident, Lakshmi Rani's family filed a murder case. Police arrested the mother-in-law of Lakshmi Rani, Karunabala Das and Jaya Jyotsna Das.
